Rising from the ashes of former bands Slowdive and Mojave 3, The Loose Salute make ’summertime’ folksy country rock. Beautiful harmonies abound on ‘The Tuned to Love’ album, a mixture of upbeat multi-instrumental tracks and dreamy lilting lullabies, proving that the band have a real talent for a catchy melody. Spending their time between London and Cornwall, the band cite ‘the beach’ as a musical inspiration – and its easy to see this on tracks such as ‘Ship on the Ocean’ and ‘The Mutineer.’ Described as a ‘country-rock St Etienne’ by The Guardian, the band are certainly making waves with their their gentler take on ’surf’ rock and homespun country.
